The second Big Ten game of the season takes place before the Saturday of Week 1, which is just how Nate Dickinson likes it over at Locked On Big 10. With the Penn State Nittany Lions set to visit the Purdue Boilermakers Thursday night, the Big Ten's big start to the season continues. Both Purdue and Penn State come into the season with hopes of stepping onto the national stage, and a first-week win would go a long way to starting the season well. Nate dives into the numbers from both teams from 2021 to try and decipher what could decide the Thursday night marquee. Can Aidan O'Connell cook against the Penn State defense, or with the Nittany Lions take the Boilermaker quarterback out of his rhythm?

Later, Nate gets into the latest news from around the Big Ten. The Michigan Wolverines announced a different starting quarterback for each of the first two weeks of the season, and that doesn't bode well for a Michigan offense that will need to do more this season. Also, Ohio State is apparently hesitant to add more Big Ten teams, so why wouldn't the Buckeyes like more money and a more powerful conference? Nate gives his best guesses on Locked On Big 10 -- part of the Locked On Podcast Network.
