Today in episode 20, I interview Australian runner, Wayne Spies. There’s something truly special about talking to Wayne. He is so confident, yet down to earth which makes his words and stories of his running so interesting and entertaining. In school Wayne was constantly let down in his attempts at sprinting events and often coming last. It wasn’t until his primary school athletics coach in year 7 said Wayne, you’ve got to try the mile, that Wayne actually experienced some success. At 18, just after high school Wayne attempted his first Comrades Marathon in South Africa and didn’t even finish the event. He has now ran several Comrades events with much success and recorded times as quick as 2:25 over the marathon and 1:09 in the half. So as always, sit back, relax and tune in to hear from the inspirational Wayne Spies as he talks all things attitude, to comrades to nutrition.
