Season 02, Episode 26 reaches cruisin’ altitude with Umphrey’s McGee!
Since their formation at the University of Notre Dame in 1997, Umphrey’s McGee has become one of the most prolific and well-respected jam bands of all time. Equal parts rock, prog, metal, and psychedelic, the band has played over 2,500 shows and amassed more than 300,000,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Keyboardist Joel Cummins joins us to discuss the UMBowl at the Ryman Auditorium (featuring four unique sets of fan-selected material), touring in a pick-up truck, playing with Phish’s Mike Gordon, harnessing the jam, and being taught the difference between volume and illuminance.
The band is out on the “Cruisin' Altitude” Tour all summer long. Find dates and more information at Umphreys.com and on social media @UmphreysMcGee.
