Well, well, well– It’s Season 02, Episode 15, and that means we’re celebrating 50 Episodes of “Load-In Through the Back!”

On this episode we are joined by Speech, the groundbreaking MC behind one of the most iconic hip-hop groups of all-time: Arrested Development.

The group burst onto the national scene with their debut album “3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of…” which contained smash-hits such as “Tennessee,” “Mr. Wendall,” and “People Everyday,” and garnered the group two GRAMMY awards. In 1993 the group was named Rolling Stone Magazine’s Band of the Year, and will forever reside on their list of the Top 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Acts of All-Time!

With humanity and philanthropy at their very core, Arrested Development has transcended headlining arena tours and marquee festival slots (though they’ve had plenty of those, too), and shared global stages with the likes of Nelson Mandela, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Hilary Clinton, and Barack Obama. They continue to fervently support organizations such as the National Coalition of The Homeless, and the African National Congress (ANC).

Speech and his wife Yolonda (who happens to be their Tour Manager) join us to discuss the current state of hip-hop, the art of curating a live performance, how to properly alter the lyrics to “Tennessee” for an acoustic cover, keeping humanitarianism and honesty at the center of their music, and loading into a performance over the crowd. Yes, you read that correctly.

The band released their critically acclaimed double record, “Bullets in the Chamber,” in 2024, and will tour the United States in 2025. Visit ArrestedDevelopmentMusic.com for more information, and follow @ArrestedDevelopment__ and @Speech__ across social media to be the first to know!
