Greetings everyone

This week, I want to come back to an issue that I touched on in Episode 90 of the podcast. In that episode I spoke about two really positive Afrikan organisations that are putting in some strong work to welcome Afrikans home to the continent - and in particular, home to the Gambia and Senegal. But you’ll also remember that right at the point when I was about to publish that episode, I found some negative social media about both the Afrikan Diaspora Returnee Association and it’s figurehead who is called Shakina Chinadu; and, the Made in Afrika Project and it’s figurehead, who is called Rashad Grant-Mahdi.

So why is this episode important? It’s important because we need to know some of the methods others will use to try to bring you down because of your success and we need to start to out these people amongst us. We also need to out people who try to get as far away from Afrikan Diasporan communities as they can, before they start flinging mud – just so that they cannot be confronted about their behaviour. When you are ‘good people’, it is simply unacceptable that we should stand by whilst others with ulterior motives, take shots at the liberation work good people in our communities are trying to do.
