How to techno from scratch | Live Electronic Music Tutorial 121

In episode 121 we produce a techno song from scratch in Logic Pro X. The sound will be dark driving and hypnotic. We first set up the BPM to 124 and the refresh rate to 48 000KHZ.

As we are making techno the kick drum is very important so we decide to edit the envelope to give it more body and length. Afterwards as we process the percussion we also add some flavour to keep the main focus into a dark techno sound.

We then move on to record a bassline, we select one that has a rising pitch to it, this sets the tone for the rest of the session. Once mixed and engineered this is what we were looking for. We then add a response to this bass with a synth element with a cool SUB hit.
