The Hungering And Thirsting for God As A Worshiper

Summary:

As we change and grow in all things in a relationship to our Father, our love for Him and our hunger only increases. There are steps that a worshiper can enter into to help them into this new age of Spirit. As we hunger and thirst to be those worshipers, we find that He is faithful to lead and create us into His prefect will.

Show Notes:

• The Beginning step for a worshiper is to have a hunger to be His worshiper.


• Sometimes the Lord will test you to see how hungry are you, how serious are you in your love relationship towards Him.


• We must “dig in” through all the testing and trials to enter into that deep worship that He wants.


• We must be careful in choosing the people who we fellowship with with regards to our walk with God and our worship.


• We are born into that with those who are around us, and grow as we worship.


• You ask the Lord to show you to lead and direct you to where your to be.


• As we give ourselves to where the Lord has placed us, He begins to refine our worship by His fire and those who He has placed in our midst.


• You can be hungry and seeking, “Lord, where are You?” He’ll begin to lead you to a different expression that He wants to meet you in. Don’t try to box God in.


• If we hunger and thirst for God, we will find Him.

• The beginning for a worshiper would just simply go before Him and cry out to Him to be His worshiper, to have that pure heart; that's the beginning step.


• ...He's making you dig in, and really making you hungry, or testing you even. How serious are you about a relationship with Me?


• Be selective, be searching, don't get caught up in the first church, or the first group of people that you run into, but be hungry enough to really seek out and find a group of people that are truly hungry, and reaching in to worship the Lord.


• You ask the Lord to make it clear to you where you're to be. Where does He want you to be so you can grow. So you can become the worshiper that you need to become before the Lord.


• ...because you want to be around people that are hungry, and thirsty. That's more important than, all their knowledge than their great doctrines. It doesn't hold a candle, to a group of people that are hungering and thirsting for the Lord.


• There are groups of people out there; not easily found maybe; but there are groups of people out there that are really hungry, and not settling for a certain level, in God.


• I believe that when you find the atmosphere that the Lord has set up for you you will know.


• What you're doing is you're looking to worship God, where He's at, and where He wants you. You'll pick it up.


• If you're never satisfied, and you're always hungry for the Lord, you will seek Him and you will find Him.


• ...as we grow, either through the refining of fire, and / or the refining of who we hang out with. We grow as we worship.


• I think He’s very pleased with somebody that just met Him and loves Him, and loves to be in His presence.

Romans 10:13

for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Luke 11:5-13

And He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves,  because a friend of mine has come to me from a journey and I have nothing to serve him’;  and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’  I tell you, even if he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his ^[c]shamelessness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened.  Now which one of you fathers will his son ask for a fish, and instead of a fish, he will give him a snake?  Or he will even ask for an egg, and his father will give him a scorpion?  So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

Isaiah 55:6-7

Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
 Let the wicked abandon his way,
And the unrighteous person his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.

Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

Matthew 22:37-38

And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the great and foremost commandment.

Take Away:

As God’s worshipers we enter into this new age of Spirit, as we have this deep hunger and thirst after the Lord. As we go through many test, and trials, it’s this drive to be His pure worshipers, those who worship in Spirit and truth. How do we move forward into the presence of the Lord? It’s a choice we make to say “Lord, You are everything to me.”
