95. Simple Game for Blending Words to Teach Your Child to Read

Teaching your child to read involves a lot of steps:

• Helping them pull apart the sounds in words (segmenting)
• Helping them match those sounds to letters (alphabetic principal)
• Helping them blend those sounds back together to read the word (decoding)

This episode shares a quick and easy game that practices ALL of these skills to help your child become a strong reader AND speller!

And the best part? All you need is a whiteboard, marker, and a few word cards. Easy peasy!
