The Essence of Redemption - PT 1

Redemption is a purchase. Christ purchased us and paid the ultimate price for our sins. This is the Gospel which is Good News! We don’t have to pay for our sins: Christ did! Through Jesus, we have been declared righteous by God! We can live with freedom in the new life we have been given. We have been justified and can live with joy knowing that God’s grace will never fail!

We heard the Gospel. We believed the Gospel. We stand on the Gospel. We became saved! When we believed on Jesus we took on a new identity. We stop identifying with what we used to identify ourselves with. Baptism represents I now identify with Jesus. In Christ, our redemption, we died to sin and no longer live in sin, we were raised with Jesus and now live to God.

We are no longer living for ourselves. We are no longer living for sin. We are no longer living for the world. We are living for Jesus! This is the Gospel we are preaching. Christ died for our sins! Christ has borne our sins! Christ was buried! Christ rose again! The price has been paid! The payment has been made! Jesus shed His Blood! Jesus delivered us from the penalty of sin. Jesus delivered us from the power of sin. We need to learn how to identify with His death and resurrection.

We now live in the reign of grace. We now live in the reign of righteousness. We died to the reign of sin and death. We left the kingdom of darkness. We left the power of darkness. We left the dominion of darkness. We are now in a new Kingdom. We are now in the Kingdom of His love. We are now in the Kingdom of Grace. We have the life of Jesus and the love Christ constrains us. We died with Christ and we now live to God. The death and resurrection of Jesus gives me life!
