Kenn Taylor is the Lead Cultural Producer North at the British Library based at Boston Spa.

There are over 170 million items stored there and in 2023 they will be celebrating their 50th birthday.

Kenn tells me about the work they do at the British Libray and about their collaboration with Invisible Flock on "Faint SIgnals":

"An invitation to slow down, an opportunity to experience an imagined British woodland, densely populated with sounds of nature from the British Library’s archive.

Faint Signals is an ambient and slow experience of discovery, exploring the world one step at a time. With thousands of combinations of sounds, your constantly evolving experience will be unique to you.

Each tile scrolled past unlocks a narrative and rich vein of sounds from the forest, all of which are based on real life environments, with wildlife, weather and other nature sounds reflecting the diversity and complexity of ecosystems in the Yorkshire region."

The featured track on this episode is "Natural Force" by the brilliant Weathered Man and The Noise.
