“Your thoughts matter. Drop a line and share your reflections.”
In this teaching series, Jesus: Our True Tranquility Base, we begin with one of history’s most remarkable achievements: the Apollo 11 Moon landing. In July 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot in the Sea of Tranquility, a place named centuries earlier when astronomers mistakenly believed the dark lunar plains were bodies of water. Though the landing site was anything but calm, it became a powerful symbol. In the same way, the Christian life points us to a Tranquility Base as found in Christ.
Before diving into the spiritual parallels, it’s important to recognize that the Moon landing was real—an extraordinary feat of courage, technology, and teamwork. From the astronauts’ testimonies, to the thousands of engineers involved, to the physical evidence left on the lunar surface, the truth of Apollo 11 inspires us to pursue what once seemed impossible.
This series will use the story of man’s first steps on the Moon as a parable to show how Jesus Christ is our true landing place of peace. Just as Apollo 11 required faith, precision, and endurance, so too does our walk with Christ. He is our Tranquility Base—the foundation of serenity, stability, and victory in the Christian life.
