Michael, a resident of Louisiana for the past eight years who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, shares his remarkable journey. Starting with his childhood in Ohio, followed by college in Idaho, and how he ended up in Louisiana. In college, he struggled to find a job for after school until his father suggested he connect with a recruiter who ultimately led him to his current employer.
Michael candidly shares how he landed on the Dean's watch list in college due to poor grades and video games, but his father's encouragement led him to attend a trade school. Michael's experience in a physical education class in judo led him to pursue judo and compete at a national level. After moving to Louisiana, he started as a helper in a construction job and worked his way up to planner estimator after attending a trade school for pipe fitting.
In 2018, Michael received a devastating diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. However, with a positive attitude, a determined mindset, and the support of his family, Michael began coaching and working with others who were also dealing with the same condition. He changed his diet, lifestyle, and worked on stress management, collaborating with his father who also had chronic fatigue syndrome. Mike sought help from a functional doctor and read numerous books, eventually finding a combination of diet, lifestyle, and stress management to be the most effective in helping him heal.
