In this vulnerable episode, I’m sharing all about navigating motherhood without both of my parents.I talk about the profound impact of losing my mom and dad, grieving these deaths both in and out of parenthood, the complexities of parenthood intertwined with navigating this grief, and the unique challenges that arise when facing major life milestones without them.I also open up about my pregnancy journey and the birth of our daughter, and navigating this without my parents. And, the ongoing task of balancing the joy of parenthood with the anguish of loss. Lastly, I share some coping mechanisms that have helped me through this, and the significance of honoring the memories of loved ones—especially when bringing a child into the world.My goal with this episode is to provide comfort, support, and understanding for anyone here listening enduring parenthood without one or more of your parents, and to let you know you aren’t alone in this journey.
