Praying In glossasia (worshipping God in an unlearned and unknown tongue/language) while including an even deeper level of intimacy, hunger, and devotion by fasting from food is a very powerful and necessary way for us to be involved in the things that God enjoys doing.
Often times fasting is an unplanned event.
We get so involved and caught up in something or someone that we actually forget to eat or drink.
There can alos be times wher fasting is planned... like a date night with your spouse and/or your best friend.
Fasting is best expressed in the context of relationship.
Exchanging one hunger for another.
The late (and great) John Wimber coined this one: "How do you spell LOVE? The answer, T.I.M.E.?"
Fasting buys us T.I.M.E.
Fasting as we pray or worship is a sign of passionate love.
We discover more and more of His identity as well as more and more of our own as we share the intimate closeness of perfect love.
