I used to drink up to a quart of vodka a day, smoked a ton of weed, taken a lot of LSD-25 and at times some magic mushrooms along with heroin, pain killers and benzoids just to top things off.
I eventually became what is commonly referred to as a "burn-out".
The same type of thing happened to me while I served as a pastor of a local congregation of believers in Jesus because by working very hard and doing a bunch of busy stuff mostly on my own abilities and strength when I developed a case of being "burned out".
Then the relationship I was in got real sour and we both ended up "burning" each other (so to speak)... We each got "burnt"
I must have been a glutton for punishment.
Nope, I was just trying to achieve or reach "the impossible" on my own power.
I found out I'm not alone.
Alone or in the company of others I still felt like a second class citizen.
Burned out and damaged goods.
Funny thing... God gives His hope to taking and making use of"burned stones" to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem... Read Nehemiah 4.
What's up with that?
He is willing, ready, and able to impart fresh hope, His hope into our life today, right now!
Hope gives us the strength and vision to be patient while waiting for the promise to arrive.
Hope is actually a very powerful thing.
