Completing his tale for Mr. Pedder, Liam takes his leave, but not before the loud Managing Clerk lets his feelings on the boys situation be known. Before heading home, he receives some much-needed clarity from Meryl, a guild clerk, who provides valuable insights into the guild. As he walks back, Liam reflects on what the next step in his new life should be, but the warm breeze of late spring offers a brief reprieve from the day’s stress.

Once home, he hopes to unwind in the peaceful church garden, but a breezy afternoon—and perhaps the Goddess herself—seem to have other plans for him, suggesting an answer to his worries wrapped in the deeper mysteries of his new world.
