A week has passed as Liam immerses himself in the daily rhythms of Carcanne, learning both from his interactions with the people of Stossen and through Father Denholm’s lessons. Working tirelessly in the church's charity gardens, Liam begins to notice peculiarities—plants thriving out of season and producing more than they should—that raise unsettling questions about the nature of this world. The deeper he digs, the more he suspects there’s something extraordinary at play, leading to a tense confrontation with the priest, as Liam’s understanding of reality begins to unravel in the face of strange forces larger than himself.
