- Prayer for the King (Psalm 72:1)
- The psalmist prays that God would impart God’s justice and righteousness to the Royal Son.
- Righteous and Just Reign (Psalm 72:2-4)
- The psalmist prays that the King’s reign will be marked by righteousness and justice for all people.
- Endless Reign (Psalm 72:5-7)
- The psalmist prays for an everlasting reign and rule for the King.
- Universal Reign (Psalm 72:8-11)
- The psalmist prays that the reign of the King would extend to all peoples and expand throughout all the earth.
- Compassionate and Caring Reign (Psalm 72:12-14)
- The psalmist asks that the King’s reign be caring, helpful, compassionate, and protecting.
- Prosperous Reign (Psalm 72:15-17)
- The psalmist prays that the King would receive tributes, prayers of gratitude and blessing, abundant prosperity, and have an honored name.
- Doxology: Praise God (Psalm 72:18-20)
- The psalmist praises God for the wonderful things He has done and prays that the whole earth will be filled with His glory.
