God Is For Us and He Alone Is Our Refuge (Psalm 46:1-3)

1. Affirmation  of Faith: “God Is” (Psalm 46:1)
   • Changeless character
     • Absolutely Sovereign
     • Infinitely Wise
     • Perfectly Loving 
2. Arguments for Faith: “God is...” (Psalm 46:1)
   • “Refuge"
   • “Strength"
   • “Very Present Help”
3. Application of Faith: “Therefore,” I will not  fear (Psalm 46:2-3)
   • Great Upheaval - Cataclysmic events -  “Even if thinking”
     • The earth becomes  disordered 
     • The mountains become  dislodged 
     • The oceans become  disturbed 
       
       

God Is With Us (Psalm 46:4-7)

1. God is preserving us (Psalm 46:4)
2. God is present with us (Psalm 46:5a)
3. God is providing for us in the perfect time (Psalm 46:5b)
   
   

God Will Fight For Us (Psalm 46:8-11)

1. Two imperatives (Psalm 46:8)
   • Come
   • Behold 
2. Two imperatives (Psalm 46:10)
   • Be still 
   • Know 
3. Repeated emphasis: “the LORD of host is with us” (Psalm 46:7, 10)
   • God’s promise 
   • Our hope
