Dairy company Norco, one of the largest employers in the flood-devastated regional city of Lismore, announced last week that it would be retrenching 170 casual and permanent employees, notwithstanding the 70 that were made redundant in July.
The current state of play is that Norco has refused the offer by the Federal Government of some $35 million to keep things rolling and of course, save jobs.
But what about the workers and their families that have been impacted by Norco's decision, in particular their rights for full entitlements owed to them?
To discuss the topic generally, Dan talks with Melissa Care, an employment lawyer at Coutts.
