Evil is not new. From the garden to today, humanity has wrestled with it. But here’s the truth: how you process it determines whether you live in fear, or live in faith. Evil is loud but it’s not ultimate. God is ultimate. Evil threatens but it doesn’t win. Christ wins.
Romans 12:21 (ESV):
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
1. HOW DO WE PROCESS EVIL? – Through the lens of God’s sovereignty
Ecclesiastes 3:16–17 (ESV):
“Moreover, I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness. I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time for every matter and for every work.”
“When the world feels out of control, remember—heaven has never lost control.”
2. HOW DO WE RESPOND TO EVIL? – With Spirit-empowered boldness and love
Ephesians 6:12–13 (ESV):
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”
Matthew 5:44 (ESV):
“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
We don’t fight like the world fights. We fight on our knees, with truth on our lips, and love in our hearts.
3. WHAT DO WE DO CULTURALLY? – Stand as salt and light
Matthew 5:13–16 (ESV):
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden…”
“Evil advances when the righteous are absent.”
Proverbs 28:1 (ESV):
“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Evil thrives in silence. The world doesn’t need Christians hiding it needs Christians Standing firm in the faith.
“This culture doesn’t need echoes of compromise it needs voices of conviction.”
