This episode features Ann Shivas. Ann is a talented osteopath practicing in Montreal and currently into the practice of epigenetics and functional medicine. Ann was a competitive athlete and played professional women’s soccer in Australia. As a redshirt athlete with team Canada she broke her tibia and partially tore her ACL. She consequently suffered a full ACL tear. Her road back was long and challenging, and lead to her eventually playing rugby at an amateur level which gave her the confidence to give soccer a try once again. She consequently tore her ACL again and her professional athletic career came to completion. She turned to academics and completed a master’s degree in teaching and then found osteopathy. Her story is not uncommon, but rich with internal reflection and learning
