Luke chapter 4 begins with Jesus being led into the wilderness, where He fasts for 40 days and resists temptation from the devil, demonstrating spiritual strength and authority. After returning in the power of the Spirit, He teaches in synagogues and becomes well-known throughout Galilee. In Nazareth, His hometown, Jesus reads from Isaiah and boldly claims to fulfill the prophecy, but the crowd reacts with anger and tries to drive Him out. He continues performing miracles, casting out demons, and healing the sick, including Peter’s mother-in-law. The chapter highlights Jesus’ authority over evil, His rejection by His own people, and the beginning of His miracle-filled ministry in Galilee.
