In the last episode, I told you about New Year’s Eve in Slovakia. Today I am going to tell you about the Three Kings Holiday in Slovakia. In the Slovak lesson you will review some verbs and learn about the Slovak future tense. You will also learn how to say “New Year’s resolution” in Slovak. At the end of my episode, you will find some possible “New Year’s resolution” sentences.

Verb byť – to be in the future tense”

Čítať – to read (future tense)

Review of some Slovak verbs in the infinitive :
1.     to eat (jesť)
2.     to drink (piť)
3.     to smoke (fajčiť)
4.     to exercise (cvičiť)
5.     to read (čítať)
6.     to spend (tráviť)
7.     to help (pomáhať)
8.     to curse (nadávať)

Novoročné predsavzatia (new year’s resolutions ):
1.     V novom roku budem dobrý. (I will be good in the new year.)
2.     Nebudem nadávať. (I will not curse.)
3.     Budem piť menej alkoholu. (I will drink less alcohol.)
4.     Nebudem fajčiť. (I won't smoke.)
5.     Budem jesť viac zeleniny. (I will eat more vegetables.)
6.     Budem cvičiť. (I will exercise.)
7.     Budem viac čítať. (I will read more.)
8.     Nebudem stále na telefóne. (I won't be on the phone all the time.)
9.     Budem tráviť viac času s rodinou. (I will spend more time with my family.)
10.  Budem pomáhať druhým. (I will help others.)
