Today's episode is about Slovak High Tatras. In the Slovak lesson, you’re going to learn some words from my “fall vocabulary” and practice them in short sentences. You will also learn how to say “I love mountains!” in Slovak. At the end you can hear a short version of my legend about Kriváň.

Today I’m talking about the tallest range in the Carpathian Mountains, the High Tatras. In the Slovak lesson, you’re going to learn some words from my “fall vocabulary” and practice them in short sentences. You will also learn how to say “I love mountains!” in Slovak. At the end you can hear a short version of my legend about Kriváň.

Slovak lesson
1.     jeseň (autumn)
Jeseň je krásne farebná. (Autumn is beautifully colorful.)
2.     farby jesene (colors of autumn)
Farby jesene sú očarujúce. (The colors of autumn are enchanting.)
3.     príroda (nature)
Príroda nás volá na výlety. (Nature calls us to take trips.)
4.     strom / stromy (tree / trees)
Stromy menia farby. (Trees change colors.)
5.     list / listy (leave / leaves)
Listy pomaly opadávajú. (The leaves are slowly falling.)
6. vták / vtáci (bird / birds)
Sťahovaví vtáci odlietajú na juh. (Migratory birds fly south.)
7. pavúk / pavúci (spider / spiders)
Pavúky spriadajú svoje siete. (Spiders spin their webs.)
8. pole / polia (field / fields)
Polia sa pripravujú na zimu. (Fields are being prepared for winter.)
9. vinohrad / vinohrady (vineyard / vineyards)
Vinohrady majú oberačky. (Vineyards have peelers.)
10. oberačka / oberačky (peeler / peelers)
11. hora / hory (mountain / mountains)
Hory v jeseni sú nádherné.( The mountains in autumn are beautiful.)
12. Zbožňujem hory! (I love / adore mountains!)
