The traditional name of] HR becomes really non-connected and what you’re doing is looking at people as objects. - Anita Bhandari
The HR Department. A common department name in countless organizations. Yes is it the right one for this period in time? Was it ever the right one? In today’s episode, my guest makes the case for shifting this department’s title to “People and Culture” which is a shift I am seeing more and more of with my clients and podcast guests.
My guest is Anita Bhandari, the Chief Human Resources Officer for the City of Burnaby. Anita brings almost 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors, and is a results-oriented professional with expertise in areas including Organizational Development, Disability and Attendance Management, Recruitment and Retention, and Occupational Health & Safety. Anita was a finalist in the YWCA 2023 Women of Distinction Awards, and is a finalist in the 2023 Women of Inspiration Awards. Her words and deeds are proof that she lives by the Burnaby Promise of putting the community first, building great teams, and acting with integrity.
In this episode of Talent Management Truths, you’ll discover:
