Leader Activated Episode 4: Why Mentors Are Important in Building Your Business

In this episode, I will be sharing my experiences of having a mentor in building my business.

Benefits of Having a Mentor
Things are harder when you don't have someone on your side to help you. Here's why:
(1:20) In my early days as a solopreneur, things were hard. I need to learn everything by myself. No one to ask and the worst part of my journey was that I was going round and round in circles with no clear objectives. And I even doubt my own decision.
(1:53) But after I got myself a mentor in the business that I do, I had someone to look upon and to sit down with me and go through with me in every step and action that I need to do.

We All Should Have Mentors
In all the things that we do, we need mentors.
(3:15) I do believe all of us will need a mentor. Someone who has more experiences than us. Who has been there, been through the journey and they will understand what we're going through.

Great Advice
Wondering if you really need a mentor and where can you find them?
(3:40)Look on the internet, look for a community or groups that share the same vision as what you want to do, the same traits or the same network. And see if you like what they are doing and learn to network around. You never know maybe your mentor is just right there.
(4:05) Don't be discouraged when your first mentor isn't good enough. Feel free to look for more than one mentor. Because different mentors will share different experiences and ideas which they will be able to share.

Key takeaways:

  1. You should have a mentor for your business.
  2. Mentors help you to take action.
  3. Look for more than one mentor.
  4. Get out of your comfort zone.
