Meet Amber Barrios - Owner of ACT Educate

Today’s guest is in a very interesting niche market and I can’t wait for her to tell you her story. Our guest today is Amber Barrios and she is the owner of ACT Educate, which stands for Associated Compliance & Training. (ACT) is an organization that was built on the principle of solving problems and helping those working in the Fire Sprinkler Industry to stay in compliance with licensing requirements as well as to provide training through our Apprenticeship program, Continuing Education courses, and Safety.

She is a fellow Wyoming gal, a mom of a 21 year old daughter and 19 year old son, wifey to her hubby for 23 and happens to be one of my favorite cousins that I just don’t get to see enough of!

A few more things about our guest, she has been around construction her entire life.

She has been working in the Fire Sprinkler Industry for about 14 years now and has worked in pretty much every position within the Fire Protection industry excluding the design and engineering side.

Amber is super grateful to all the wonderful people she has met in this industry and especially those that took the time to help her learn the industry. Every position she has had has made her who she is today and she is so happy to have worked for some really great companies and worked with some phenomenal people.

Teaching is her passion and teaching a trade definitely comes with it's challenges and over the years she has been fortunate to work with a lot of great students and been able to refine her methods for teaching not only trade specific but Safety topics.

She has been an OSHA outreach trainer for about 5 years now and really enjoy teaching these classes because most people come into the class thinking it's going to be a boring safety class and they are usually pleasantly surprised by the time we get through our first hour. She makes it a point of being very interactive when she teaches and makes sure that not only are the students listening but they are truly engaged and are making connections between the subject matter and their daily jobs.
