Don Burgess, born on May 28, 1956, in Santa Monica, California, is an acclaimed American cinematographer renowned for his collaborations with director Robert Zemeckis. He earned Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for Best Cinematography for "Forrest Gump" (1994). Burgess's notable works with Zemeckis include "Contact" (1997), "Cast Away" (2000), and "The Polar Express" (2004). Beyond his partnership with Zemeckis, he has contributed to films such as "Spider-Man" (2002), "Enchanted" (2007), "The Book of Eli" (2010), and "Aquaman" (2018). In recognition of his significant impact on the field, Burgess received the American Society of Cinematographers' Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. ​
