​Roger Nygard is an American director, editor, producer, and author.He is best known for his acclaimed documentaries Trekkies (1997) and its sequel Trekkies 2 (2004), which explore the lives of "Star Trek" enthusiasts. Nygard has also directed films like High Strung (1991) and Suckers (2001). In television, he has directed episodes of The Office and The Bernie Mac Show, and edited Emmy-nominated episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veep. His other documentary works include The Nature of Existence (2010) and The Truth About Marriage (2020). Additionally, Nygard has authored books such as Cut to the Monkey (2021) and The Documentarian(2024), offering insights into filmmaking and editing.
