Lorna Cook is an American animator, director, and storyboard artist renowned for her contributions to the animation industry. She began her career as an animator on films like The Secret of NIMH (1982) and An American Tail (1986). At Walt Disney Animation Studios, Cook worked on acclaimed projects such as Beauty and the Beast (1991), animating the character Belle, and The Lion King (1994), where she contributed to the story and animated Adult Simba. ​

Transitioning to DreamWorks Animation, Cook co-directed Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002), a film that received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and won four Annie Awards. Her extensive career also includes roles as a story artist on films like Mulan (1998) and The Prince of Egypt (1998). Cook's dedication and artistic vision have significantly influenced modern animated storytelling.​
