Simon Wells is a British director, animator, and screenwriter known for his work in animated and live-action films. He started his career at Amblimation and DreamWorks Animation, directing films such as An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (1991), Balto (1995), and The Prince of Egypt (1998).

Wells later transitioned to live-action, directing The Time Machine (2002), a reimagining of H.G. Wells’ novel, who was his great-grandfather. He has also worked as a storyboard artist and writer on major animated films like Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. His work is known for its strong visual storytelling and emotional depth.
