Struggling with Teenage Mood Swings? Here’s What No One Tells You
Tips to Deepen the Connection]
If you really want to strengthen that bond, here are a few more tips:
1️⃣ Pause before reacting—your calmness sets the tone. Take a deep breath before you respond.
2️⃣ Validate their emotions instead of dismissing them. When you say, ‘I can see you’re upset,’ it shows empathy and opens up space for communication.
3️⃣ Ask questions with genuine curiosity, not judgment. Instead of ‘Why are you acting like this?’ try ‘I noticed you seem upset. Want to share what’s going on?’
4️⃣ Model emotional regulation. Remember, what they see, they learn. If you manage your emotions, they are more likely to manage theirs.
