 Dear Parents
Today, I want to talk about something that I know many parents struggle with: Not interfering in every little thing our children do.

I know as parents, our instinct is to help, to guide, and to protect. But sometimes, our involvement—especially in the small, everyday situations—can actually do more harm than good.

Three big reasons why stepping back can actually help your child

1️⃣ Builds Independence: When children solve their own problems, they learn to trust themselves. They develop confidence and decision-making skills that last a lifetime.

2️⃣ Encourages Resilience: Small struggles teach them how to handle bigger challenges. If we always smooth the path for them, they miss out on learning how to get up after they fall.

3️⃣ Strengthens Emotional Intelligence: When they navigate their own conflicts or solve their own puzzles, they learn about emotions—both their own and others’. They understand empathy, patience, and negotiation.

When to Step In & When to Step Back]
Now, I’m not saying you should never step in. If there’s real danger or bullying, absolutely—intervene. But for everyday struggles? Take a step back. Watch. Observe. And only step in if they truly need support.
