The Book of Revelation is a very intriguing book to many and to those who wish to delve into a study of the book there are many things that are helpful to the student that, if learned ahead of time, they learn these things it will be easier to navigate through the book.  One of those issues is how the book has been interpreted over the centuries.  And there are four main ways the book has been interpreted all of which are different.
