Weather in 5 Hurricane Sally has been inching its way northward producing flooding rains along the Central Gulf Coast from Mississippi to the Florida Panhandle. Up to 2 feet of rain total is possible here with catastrophic flooding likely. Across much of the US the weather is quiet but much of the US including the Eastern US is covered with a haze layer of smoke from the West Coast wildfires. With no change in the overall pattern this is going to be an issue for many days ahead. The weather in the Northeast & Middle Atlantic is dry and cool and we have another dry cool air mass that will arrive for Friday and the weekend.
