Then a wave forms on the front in the Southeast US and rides northward up the coast. Winter Storm Watches are posted from Northern Virginia to Western and Southern New England. Bitter Cold follows. A new storm forms in the Gulf of Mexico early next week and it will bring snow and ice to much of the Gulf Coast and then the Southeast US Coast. Bitterly cold across the Plains, Midwest and Ohio Valley early next week.
