Episode 107: This Is My Story: Russell Tippin, President and CEO, Medical Center Health System

Russell Tippin has been the President/CEO of Medical Center Health System since September 2019. He previously held several CEO positions in West Texas. A Texas native, Tippin graduated in 1992 from Andrews High School and attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. He then went on to receive his Master’s degree in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix in Tempe, Arizona.

Russell has more than 20 years of experience in Healthcare Administration. Prior to joining Medical Center Health System Tippin was the Chief Executive Officer for 10 years at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas.

Russell is an active member on many Hospital, Health, and Business Boards. These include: The Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange (THIE), TPC, Teaching Hospitals of Texas (THOT) and the Texas Hospital Association (THA). He is also a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.

In April 2019, Russell received the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospital’s (TORCH) coveted Gordan Russell Award. This is the highest award in the State of Texas for TORCH, recognizing outstanding merit in Healthcare Administration.

Russell has been married to his lovely wife Lisa for over 20 years. They have two awesome kiddos, Tucker who attends Tarleton State and Macy Rose who is attending Texas A&M.
