She claims the complaint lacks any credible evidence and insists her interactions with Jeffrey Epstein—such as soliciting campaign contributions—were innocent and entirely above board. According to her legal defense, any donations she received were either vetted and returned or had no bearing on policy decisions. She argues that the lawsuit fails to demonstrate any knowledge or participation in Epstein’s trafficking operation and should be dismissed outright for failing to meet basic legal standards.

But her denials become harder to swallow when contrasted with the survivors’ detailed accusations and the decision by a federal judge to let trafficking-related claims against her proceed. The plaintiffs allege she personally visited Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse to solicit tens of thousands in donations and that he later benefited from favorable tax treatment while she served in an influential government position in the Virgin Islands.

Her insistence that the lawsuit is meritless seems less like a confident rebuttal and more like a desperate effort to sidestep scrutiny as the Epstein scandal continues to engulf political and financial elites.
