Her artistry charts a fertile musical crossroads where blues rock and Americana ignite with the bravado of seventies arena rock. Finely crafted narratives and expansive melodies enhance the fierce and soulful vocals of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based singer-songwriter. Syd studied and competed nationally in opera and music theory for over eight years at The Royal Conservatory of Music, earning a first-place medal in her final exam and winning numerous awards at music festivals such as the Kiwanis Music Festival and NATS. Through her extensive experience, she has developed a passionate and engaging stage presence that connects with her audience, drawing them toward her original music in the contemporary realm.
