In this episode, we are chatting with Isi Casas del Valle Pacheco

She is a lawyer, lecturer and Space leader. She talks to us about Space law. Just like general international law, Space law comprises of a variety of international agreements, treaties, conventions, and United Nations General Assembly resolutions and rules and regulations of international organizations. 

She trained as a lawyer and now focusing exclusively on Space law while working as a community manager with the European Southern Observatory (ESO)

The interesting thing of the episode 

The Artemis -1 launched on 16 November 2022. It is the beginning multi-year project to take humans back to the moon exploring much more of the lunar surface than ever before. In addition, Artemis mission will land the first woman and first person of colour on the moon. The lessons learned from the moon mission would be utilised to take the giant leap; that is sending the first astronauts to Mars. 

The extremely complex launch vehicle (Space Launch System), with the most powerful rockers ever built, launched the Orion spacecraft. It’s an incredible accomplishment for NASA, and its partners.

Interview

Isa talks about how she overcame adversity to find her vocation in the field of Space law. Isa works with various organisations including the european southern observatory (ESO) to make Space accessible to the next generation of Latin Americans. Isa mentioned, "You are a product of your decisions and not your circumstances". We agree. Resilience, determination, passion, and grit are vital to make anything successful.
