Lots of "priests", "pastors" and other wannabe religious icons made wild accusations and comparisons during Gen 1 of Pokémon and also around when Pokémon Go was released. These included calling the entire franchise satanic, saying the characters were equal to specific demons, leaves are evil and much more.
