Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan reflects on a verse from Surah Al-Kahf: “Do not say about anything, ‘I will do that tomorrow,’ without adding, ‘If Allah wills.’ And remember your Lord when you forget, and say, ‘Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is nearer to the right path’” (18:23–24).
We live in a world where success is always tied to an end result: a grade, a title, a finish line. But the Quran shifts the focus. Real success is not reaching the finish line, it’s moving forward, step by step, under Allah’s guidance.
Your past doesn’t define you. What matters is the step you choose today. Every day you wake up is another invitation from Allah to move forward, even if all you can manage is a single step.
