Today I'm sharing how I've been feeling about being home for many weeks due to the current pandemic and some suggestions for moving forward. I began the stay at home orders absolutely loving the time at home- not the scary virus part, but the time together. My daughter was having a difficult time at school and my sensitive son was having a hard time with his big sis feeling sad. I also needed the time with my husband and the time to pursue my passion projects- like this Podcast!
I’m still really loving our time together and we have grown closer- especially my kids with each other. On the flip side, now that we haven been doing this for 8 weeks, it is definitely becoming more difficult in some ways… there are also some things we can allow ourselves to feel and then make the choice to move ahead. You cannot escape the negative emotion, but you can choose which path to take once you have sat with your upset for a bit.
Personally, I don’t think we will ever go back to where we were… I think all we can truly do is keep going forward one day at a time and realize that our “normal” will probably be very different in the future.
We have no control except of ourselves and the choices we make. Keep loving on yourself, keep loving your family, your friends, and the community.
I’m rooting for you and I’m here for you. I am a great listener and I don’t promise to have all the answers… sometimes we don’t want an answer- just an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. I’ve got both so feel free to reach out to me anytime, friend. My email is [email protected] and I'd love to hear from you.
