001: From Then to Now- My Mission of Optimism

Welcome to Episode 1!!! I am SO excited you are here and can't wait to dive in to all of the goodness each week. My superpower is being optimistic and positive even in the face of difficult times and my goal is to be your guide in being more optimistic and joyful each and every day. For many years my mantra has been “Enjoy the Day” and that is the inspiration for how I live each day. 

Today, I share a bit about my background going from being an independent, social, athletic woman to feeling very isolated and lonely once I became a Mom (at age 40). I lost my outside life and struggled with no longer having a network of people or a community in which I belonged. I lost “me” for a few years and I was really hard on myself. After a few years, I joined a Mom group and found the power of community, connectedness, and also began meditation, and being more mindful. I began working out again which was HUGE for my mental health. I found things that fascinated me outside of being a Mom, like learning about safer personal care and household products, and healthier alternatives for foods and other products. Don’t get me wrong, I am blessed and LOVE being a Mom, but I also needed something that was for me and that brought me joy outside of Motherhood.  

I know there are other Moms out there feeling how I did and it is my passion to encourage, inspire, and share what I have learned and the things that got me through that time and beyond.  Now 8 years later I have this incredible fire in my belly to shout from the rooftops that every day may not be rainbows and unicorns, but there is something good about each day. As Moms we need a community of like-minded women that we can lean on and learn from, as well as find support, and move forward in our journey through Motherhood. 

My mission is to provide joy, optimism, and fun and teach the beautiful benefits of being supportive of each other, being mindful, making healthier choices, and inspiring one another to live our best lives. If this resonates with you, then I invite you to join me for new episodes each week!
