Today's Guest I'm very excited to introduce this week's guest, Maria of Gentlewhispering. She's not one of your typical online business owners, so she might be new to you. Maria (who keeps her last name a secret for privacy reasons) is a huge success on YouTube, with almost 800,000 subscribers, and one video with over 16 MILLION views. In this episode we talk about how she got started, how she grew her channel, how often she produces new videos, and how she learned to balance quality and quantity in terms of YouTube content. We also talk about how she's monetized her channel, which has allowed her to quit her job and turn her hobby into a business. Maria, also known as “GentleWhispering” is an ASMR content creator on Youtube.com, who has been making creative relaxation videos since 2011. While working with ASMR phenomenon, which focus is on auditory and visual stimuli to elicit a calming and meditative reaction, “GentleWhispering” has become the most subscribed ASMR channel with nearly 800 thousand subscribers and over 240 million total views. The channel features over 270 unique videos, 70 of which have surpassed 1 million views, including the most popular ASMR video of all time exceeding 16 million views alone.

Maria engages her audience using hypnotic movements, soothing voice and melodic sounds to trigger an ASMR tingling sensation. These techniques create a comforting atmosphere for the viewer, which are often educational and entertaining, as well as sleep inducing. To gain an understanding and knowledge of this phenomenon, multiple media outlets from all over the world, including The Washington Post and Time Magazine has reached out and featured Maria on several occasions.

She has also been a guest on many television shows such as ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “The Today Show”. She continues her dedication for gaining and sharing knowledge about the phenomenon and helping her viewers to relax.
