Last week, we learned about the drama triangle and the empowerment dynamic, specifically focusing on victim/creator energy.
This week, we explore these concepts through the lens of helpers, healers, and people pleasers.
Victim energy can show up in the following ways:
- Self-Sacrifice Leading to Resentment: This occurs when we sacrifice so much that we become angry and resentful toward the very people we want to love and serve. We may attempt to make them our villains to portray ourselves as victims.
- Seeking External Validation: Depending on others for validation can indicate a struggle with internal validation. We remain in victimhood because our self-worth becomes conditional on others' praise and validation.
- Fear of Conflict: Fear of conflict can prevent us from showing up authentically, limiting genuine connections with others.
- Overcommitment: Saying "yes" to everyone else means saying "no" to ourselves, leaving us feeling victimized by others' requests.
- Guilt and Obligation: Acting out of guilt and obligation can lead to feelings of entrapment. We become victims of our own sense of obligation while accusing others of being the source of our entrapment.
Shifting from victim to creator energy involves recognizing personal power, setting boundaries, and acting from a place of autonomy and self-respect. This transformation enables people to take control of their lives, fostering healthier relationships and a more balanced emotional state.
