From passion projects to Black Queer representation with Jasika Nicole

Jasika is an actress, known for characters such as Agent Astrid in Fringe and Carly Lever in The Good Doctor, as well as an all around artist – painting, making her own clothes, pottery etc.. As a queer, African American woman, she speaks about the lack of influence and inspiration in film and television growing up and the importance of representation. She shares how today she chooses roles that feed her inner girl self which means not taking roles as lesbian #2 or playing a cop. Jasika reveals the therapeutic nature of her artistic endeavours, balancing out her work as an actress.
