Paul was speaking at a very evil time in history. Tyrants ruled, and the immoral culture of the day seemed to be falling deeper into chaos. People were looking for meaning in life and freedom from the shame of their immorality. Paul knew that the only way a person or a society can be healed from the sickness of sin is through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:8-8:3a. People are bound to a Law they cannot keep – and are destined to endure a cycle of sin and death they cannot escape. But for those who trust in Christ the outcome is far different. Jesus came to set us free from the old covenant.on with the Father!
