The odds of Queensland hosting the 2020 AFL Grand Final have seemingly shortened, with the league reportedly putting in “logistical plans” to host this year’s showpiece game in the northern state if Victorian’s COVID numbers continue to rise.
Accommodation and venue bookings in Queensland have been booked until the end of October and Western and South Australia have not been included in such plans.
The Giants and Swans have had to evacuate New South Wales and fly to Queensland after Queensland announced it would close its borders to Sydney siders on Saturday 1am.
Queensland will have 14 AFL clubs in Hubs so the real question is do they deserve to host the biggest week on the AFL Calendar or does that right belong to the top finishing sides and if they're not from Victoria host in their home state?
